French Quarter Warrior

I built this bike a few months ago, I really should pull it out and get it back on the road.

Boredom

Decided to swap out the Z's and spool for something more stock. Looks kinda cool. When the 21 get's here I'll be swapping again

LESS IS MORE

The life

I do alot of pointless posts on this thing that doesn't really matter to anyone but myself. I guess I felt like putting more depth into this one.

Life at the moment is pretty great for the most part, aside from gas prices going up and blah blah blah all the stuff that everyone complains about. My mom and dad are getting a new vehicle sometime this month which is pretty exciting. Their last ride was an '06 Chevy Silverado and they babied it so, it's only got about 25,000 miles. Seems like they want to pass that one down to me which is a godsend. My old F-150 is a burley old girl but I don't think she has much left. Seems like I have to fix something every couple weeks, maybe it's time to put her down. I found that truck shortly after I blew up my old '55 Bel-Air on the highway while bringing some friend's home one night. Only thing I plan on doing with the Silverado is keeping it clean, keeping up on maintnence and sticking a nice little stereo in it, something I can plug my iPod into.

I got a new job with my buddy Jordan over in New Orleans East at the old Bunny Bread Factory (Flower Foods) Finally a legit long term job that I can really sink my teeth into. Thank God for Jordan man, I would've never been able to get my foot in the door without him. It was either that or join the Coast Guard. I was at my witt's end with dead end construction and welding jobs. Flower is offereing full benefits along with a certification in Refridgeration and Electric. I'll be working along side a few other really great guys too which should be fun. My official title is an engineer. I'll be building and repairing the workings of Flower Foods, lots of TIG welding stainless steel, reading blueprints, running electrical systems and repairing refridgeration units in the factory. It might sound like a drag to most people but I'm really looking foward to getting in there and figuring shit out.

The weather here is wigging me out to no extent, one day it's warm and sunny, next day it's cold and drabby. I guess Mother Nature is on the rag or something, hopefully it levels out soon. I'm dying for warmer weather. Warmer weather for me means one thing, fishing. My buddies and I are absolutely DYING to go fishing soon, if not we'll probably kill eachother or someone else. I bought some new fishing gear over the last couple weeks and every day I see it sitting in my room and I die a little on the inside. I grew up on the water, fishing and stuff with my dad and his friends so it's in my blood. Sometimes I wake up early in the morning and go sit on my back porch and just smell the air, you can almost smell the marsh in the air sometimes. It's hard to explain, it's like a mixture of natural swamp gas and salt water...it's weird. I remember as a little kid being so ancy all night to go fishing the next morning that I didn't sleep at all. My dad would come in my room and let me know it's time to get our gear ready for fishing. We'd pile our crap into the truck and head over to his friend Dave's house to pair up with him and pick up his boat. Hitting the docks around 5:30am, sun not even up yet. I'd help Dave launch the boat and tie it up to the dock, that was my job man and I was good at it for being so little. Hearing Dave crank up the boat and let it warm up as we talked about what spots to hit first to find the fish. The smells, the sounds, the people you'd meet out there was like no other. We'd get out to the fishing hole just as the sun was poking up, horse flies would be biting the shit out of us but we didn't care, we were fishing. In the distance you could hear other guys fishing in neighboring canals hootin and hollerin about their wives or work, or their boats. Whatever was on their minds. Coonasses man, thick accents and no bullshit attitudes. Gotta lovem. I'll never forget those times in all my life man. I hope whenever I have a kid of my own that I can do the same thing with him or her.

I don't know, I think I talked enough. I gotta get to bed soon, I start my job tomorrow. I'm kind of nervous but I know everything will be cool, my pops told me so. All in all, life rules. Stop and smell the roses sometime, and enjoy the little things in life, those are what matter most.

Yeah buddy

Scored this minidrum 21 for the Triumph earlier this week, should be here soon.

The Spool... is cool

HOLY SHIT NEAUX BRAKES?

New Orleans...

...looked alot cooler in the '50s

LOOPY

Blasting "London Calling" on loop in the garage lately.

Inspiration...

...comes in all forms. For home brewed hot rods, one of the top 5 for me is Marky's '30 modified. Built on a tight budget in his driveway. Notice it's not 30 feet long with skulls and rat rod crap hanging off of it... it's just the bare essentials of what a hot rod should be, black paint, steel wheels, SBC breathing through six Holley 94s... nothing fancy, no frills, no bullshit, just all business. Built with three things in mind.. noise, speed, and fun.......this is what it's all about man. You either get it or you don't. Check out Marky and Arie's site http://www.ruffrodders.com/

2, 3, HAINTS!

If you've never heard of the Pine Hill Haints, you're fucking missing out.
